China
Planting Cherry Trees in a Quantity Equivalent to the Number of JINS Stores in China at Tongji University
Each year, JINS China plants cherry trees in a quantity equivalent to the number of stores we opened in China in that year at Tongji University, a school that attracts a huge number of students and visitors from all over the world. Cherry blossoms are a symbol of spring in Japan. We hope that the trees offer visitors the chance to experience cherry blossom viewing (hanami) and other aspects of Japanese culture, while also creating a place of relaxation. In September 2018, we held a tree planting ceremony and planted 20 cherry trees. The following year, in March 2019, we planted 120 saplings to match the number of stores opened in China, followed by 34 trees in May 2023, bringing the total number of cherry trees to 174. We plan to continue this activity to match the number of JINS stores opened in China in a given year.
North America
“CASES FOR CAUSES”:
Cases Designed in Collaboration with a Variety of Npos in North America, with All Proceeds Donated
JINS North America launched its original project “CASES FOR CAUSES” alongside the opening of its first store in North America. We create eyeglasses cases designed in collaboration with a variety of North American NPOs that support the initiative, which began with the desire of “making the world a better place to see.” There are now 11 designs available for purchase at all physical stores in North America and our US e-commerce site. By donating 100% of the proceeds, we hope to change the world alongside our collaborators.
*As of February 2025

Accelerating Global Expansion and Regional Contribution
In January 2025, JINS opened a new store JINS Abbot Kinney on Abbot Kinney Street in Los Angeles, the United States, to accelerate its global expansion and establish an easy-to-buy customer experience for everyone around the world.
As part of their efforts to support the areas affected by the wildfires in Los Angeles, four JINS stores in the Los Angeles area donated 100% of their sales over three days to local aid organizations.
Taiwan
Art Project Aimed at Creating a Sustainable Society and a Circular Economy in Taiwan
JINS Taiwan launched the New Vision from Old Glasses Project from 2022 to collect unwanted glasses and turn them into works of art. With the theme of animal welfare, the third project in 2024 used 25,000 unwanted glasses to create the JINS Animal Friendship Paradise, which was held in turn in three cities: Taipei, Taichung, and Tainan. The wall art and objects featuring animals native to Taiwan were created by a renowned street artist Song.
A mayor of Taipei Wanan Chiang, A mayor of Tainan Weiche Huang, and a deputy mayor of Taichung Cheng Chao-Hsin also attended the press conference. They stressed the importance of creating a sustainable society and the circular economy, and called for respect for animals' right to live and efforts to protect animals.
We also held a charity fair and donated all sales to the Taiwan SPCA (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals), contributing to the improvement of animal welfare.
Promoting Environmental Education in Local Areas by Utilizing the JINS Animal Friendship Paradise Created with Unnecessary Glasses
With the aim of promoting environmental education in local areas, JINS Taiwan donated this wall art to Hualien Shin-Cheng Elementary School, for which we provided support also in the past, after completing the JINS Animal Friendship Paradise exhibition. We hope that this wall art will not only be used as decorative art for the school, but will also inspire 300 students and teachers to learn more about environmental education.
Engaging in Charity Work for Supporting Guide Dogs for Five Consecutive Years Under the Theme of "Seeing"
For five consecutive years, JINS Taiwan has collaborated with the Taiwan Guide Dog Association to sell limited collaborative products for charity, and all sales have been donated to the association.
In 2024, JINS released its pet carpet. The soft texture makes you feel warm as if your dog is sitting next to you. A popular Taiwanese actor JC Lin participated in this project as an ambassador, and took part in a photo shooting with guide dogs and foster families, encouraging people to actively participate in the foster care system.
Getting Closely Connected with Local Communities Using JINS Go. Charity Events for Protecting Eyes While Having Fun Have Been Popular
Since 2023, JINS has been using JINS GO, a mobile eyewear van in Japan. JINS GO was launched in Taiwan in 2024 and has been providing charity services for protecting eyes of people living in Taiwan. We deepened exchanges with local people through various programs including free distribution of sunglasses, adjustment and cleaning of glasses, replacement of nose pads, massage around eyes, fun mini games, and mini-concerts by famous artists. In 2024, we held five charity events in the Taichung area, with the active participation of local politicians.
Offering a Field Trip Program for Children in Hualien, Taiwan
JINS invites mainly fourth and fifth graders from Sincheng Elementary School in Hualien County to the Head Office in Taiwan as part of a field trip program. We implemented the “JINS Telescope Project” as an initiative to broaden the students’ perspectives and encourage them to dream big. In addition to visiting stores, students learn about what is involved in marketing, accounting, education, and various other departments at the Head Office through games. This gives them the opportunity to see a different perspective from that of their daily lives.
