Joined Social Emergency Management Alliance (SEMA) for Disaster Recovery Support
During disasters, eyewear can easily get damaged, lost, or left at home, causing people to suffer unforeseen inconveniences in their daily lives afterward. JINS joined the Social Emergency Management Alliance (SEMA)(*), and through the alliance, has been providing eyewear to people hit by disasters in order to more easily facilitate their support.
*SEMA is an alliance of private companies and NPOs involved in providing aid during emergencies. Participants team up to provide a comprehensive array of provisions and services from the participating companies in times of major natural disasters in Japan.
The alliance was founded to minimize the impact of natural disasters on Japanese society and disaster victims and expedite disaster recovery as an organization that overcomes the boundaries between corporate entities and NPOs.

Donating Eyeglasses in Times of Disaster
In response to a request from SEMA, JINS donated “JINS Pollen CUT MOIST” to the Okaki area of Nakagamimachi, Hitoyoshi City, Kumamoto Prefecture, for use as dustproof eyewear during torrential rains in July 2020. We also donated “JINS PROTECT PRO” to Akitakata City, Hiroshima Prefecture, for use as dustproof eyewear during torrential rains in August 2021. In addition, we are carrying out social contribution activities that make use of the characteristics of JINS’ products, such as the donation of “JINS Pollen CUT” to medical facilities in Okinawa Prefecture through the Okinawa Medical Association to be used as a substitute for medical goggles following a shortage of medical supplies due to the spread of Covid-19.

Donating Eyewear to Developing Nations
